Porter Smith has 14 years of experience playing soccer at both the club and high school levels. He has played for City SC Utah, including the 08B Premier FV team under Fred Velez and the MLS Next 07B JP team under Josh Pittman. He competed at the highest levels of the UYSA Premier 1 and MLS Next Desert U19 divisions. Porter also represented Judge Memorial Catholic High School in Division 4A, where he was a two-year starter.

During his freshman year, Porter was mentored by Kolby “Fish” Sessions, who currently plays at Utah Valley University. He played under former coach Kelly Terril and current coach Lou Brancourt. Porter was named his school’s Most Inspirational Athlete, earned two varsity letters, and helped his club win UYSA Premier 2 and the 2022 Las Vegas Thanksgiving Classic. He was also recognized as a Scholar-Athlete for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the spring high school season.
